Errol H. Shifman, assistant
Oakland County prosecutor, has
announced his candidacy for the
incumbent seat in the 46th Dis-
trict Court Bench recently
opened by the death of Judge
Norman Feder.
Shifman is a graduate of Wylie
Groves High School, Birming-
ham; the University of Michigan,
A.B. cum laude, and Boston Uni-
versity School of Law.
From 1981 to 1985, Shifman
was an assistant Oakland County
prosecutor serving in the Circuit,
District and Juvenile Courts of
Oakland County.
Shifman was a staff attorney
from 1985 to 1986 with the firm
of Fieger and Fieger, P.C., South-
field, and handled a number of
complex litigation cases and in-
tensive appellate work in the
areas of consumer fraud class ac-
tions, medical malpractice, per-
sonal injury and employment dis-
crimination; he practiced before
the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of
Appeals, Federal District Court,
Michigan Supreme Court, Michi-
gan Court of Appeals, and all the
lower courts within the circuits of
the state of Michigan.
From June 1985 to the present,
Shifman has acted as a Small
Claims Mediator for the 48th
District Court.

teopathy degree from Michigan
State University and completed
training in psychiatry and child
psychiatry at the University of
Michigan Medical Center. He is
currently in practice in the
Detroit-Ann Arbor area.
