Eugene Friedman

Magistrate Eugene S. Fried-
man of Southfield has officially
declared his candidacy for the
46th District Court bench.
Friedman, a practicing attor-
ney, filed his petitions May 27
with the State Elections Corn-
mission in Lansing. He is seeking
the seat which will be vacated
upon the retirement of Judge
Clarence Reid. The six-year term
will begin Jan. 1, 1987.
Friedman currently is serving '
as magistrate of the court, whose
jurisdiction includes Southfield,
Lathrup Village, Franklin, Be—/
verly Hills and Bingham Farms.
In addition to his experience on /
the bench as magistrate and his
general legal practice, Friedman
previously served as a trial at-
torney with the Oakland County
Prosecutor's Office, as a Special
Assistance Attorney General for-
the State of Michigan and as a
special agent with the U.S.
Treasury Department. He has
been an attorney for 26 years.
