rested outside the Israel Em-
bassy last November.
The documents also reveal
that that in the fall of 1985
Yagur showed Pollard an Israeli
passport with Pollard's photo-
graph and the name Danny
Cohen, the name Pollard would
have when he eventually moved
to Israel. Yagur said a foreign
bank account was opened in the
name of Danny Cohen with a
deposit of $30,000. He was told
$30,000 would be deposited each
year for nine years since the es-
pionage operation was expected
to last 10 years.
The documents said that Mrs,
Pollard, who was doing public
relations work, was given
classified information on China
by her husband to help her in a
presentation she -was to make at
the Chinese Embassy.

Stolar Family

Abe Stolar, his wife Gita and
their son Michael have been
waiting since 1975 to leave the
Soviet Union. Permission was
granted then, but the Soviets
reneged on the pretext that Gita
had been engaged in secret
work.
Abe was born in Chicago in
1911 but his parents moved the
family to the Soviet Union in
1931. His parents died during
the Stalin purges in 1937 and
1938.
When Abe spoke last week to
Rae Sharfman of the Friends of
the Soviet Jewry Education and
Information Center, he asked
that the Soviet Embassy in
Washington and the former am-
bassador to the United States
from the Soviet Union, Anatoly
Dobrynin, be flooded with let-
ters on the family's behalf.
Another case concerning the
Friends group is that of Alexei
Magarik who was arrested in
Tbilisi Airport when a box was
found in his luggage.
Authorities claimed the box con-
tained hashish. Magarik's
father, living in Israel, said this
is the fourth time the KGB has
planted drugs or ammunition in
the personal belongings of He-
brew teachers or refuseniks in
the USSR.
