Adult B'nai Mitzvah
At Temple Israel

For the second time Temple
Israel will conduct services for
adults who have completed a
ten-year course of study cul-
minating in b'nai mitzvah.
On Saturday at 1:30 p.m., a
group of adults will be called to
the Torah at Temple Israel to
become 'bar and bat mitzvah.
The nine participants in the
service are: Marcia Fenton,
Barbara Gutman, Shelley Hut-
ton, Paula Korelitz, Sherri
Lumberg, Donna Phillips, Linda
and Joseph Roberts and Char-
lotte Siegel.
The bar and bat mitzvah
study program consisted of cour-
sework in the Hebrew language,
Jewish history and study of the
Torah using the new Torah
Commentary and the Gates of
Mitzvah.
The commitment to passing
along the heritage of the Jewish
faith has become the theme of
the celebrants' service — Nor
v'dor — from generation to gen-
eration. Parents, spouses and
children will be involved in the
placing of tallit on the celeb-
rants at the beginning of the
service.
