Annual Meeting For AJCommittee Under the theme, "Remember- ing the Past — Influencing the Present and Safeguarding the Future," the American Jewish Committee's Detroit Chapter will celebrate the AJCommit- tee's 80th anniversary at its an- nual meeting at Temple Beth El on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. Dr. David M. Gordis, AJ- Committee's national executive vice president, will be the fea- tured speaker. Before coming to the AJCom- mittee in July 1984, Dr. Gordis, a Conservative rabbi, was vice president of the University of Judaism in Los Angeles and vice president of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, with which the Uni- versity of Judaism is affiliated. Maurice Binkow will chair the evening, concluding his tenure as president.
