Demonstrators
Protest Nantes
School Degree

Paris (JTA) — Several hundred
Jews and non-Jews demon-
strated at the Memorial to the
Unknown Jewish Martyr here
last week to protest the award of
an academic degree by Nantes
University to the author of a
thesis claiming that the Holo-
caust was "a figment of Jewish
imagination."
In Nantes, in eastern France,
the city council suspended a
regular session to protest public-
ly the university's acceptance of
the doctoral thesis-.
The matter was raised in the
National Assembly where
Georges Fontes, the minister in
charge of war veterans affairs,
who denounced the "vice of de-
nying contemporary history."
Minister of Education Rene
Maunoury promised a full scale
investigation.
The thesis, claiming that the
deadly gas found at Nazi death
camps when they were liberated
was for "sanitary purposes," was
written by Henri Rogues, 65, a
retired agricultural engineer and
amateur historian. It received
the highest grades from the ac-
ceptance committee.
The demonstration in Paris
drew former Resistance fighters
and contentration camp sur-
vivors as well as members of
Jewish organizations.
In Amsterdam, meanwhile,
the Anne Frank Foundation has
urged every Dutch university to
protest to Nantes University.
The Foundation stated that it
was inconceivable that such a
perversion of history would be
given scholarly status in France
from which 83,000 Jews were
deported to their death during
World War II.

SLA Officers
Found Slain

Tel Aviv -(JTA) — The IDF
appeared to be successful Friday
in its efforts to calm tempers in
south Lebanon and prevent a
blood feud from erupting follow-
ing the killing of five members
of the South Lebanon Army
(SLA), including senior officers.
The bodies of the slain SLA
soldiers were found Thursday
following the discovery of their
empty jeep near the village of
Ruman, one kilometer north of
the security zone.
The village has been largely
abandoned following local
clashes, and SLA commander
Gen. Antoine Lahad had sent
his officers to discuss the matter
with village heads, in an effort
to get the villagers to return.
Members of the Norwegian
contingent of UNIFIL Thursday
prevented the infiltration into
the security zone of some 20 ter-
rorists found riding horses laden
with explosives, Katyusha roc-
kets and other arms.
The UNIFIL patrol halted the
caravan near Shuba village,
north of Metulla. The terrorists
fled and the UN men captured
the horses and their loads.

Just about everybody can
benefit from INTERPLAK and
its especially effective for peo-
ple with gum problems or ortho-
dontic braces. There's no tech-
nique to master because the
brush does all the work.
Ordinary hand brushing gener-
ates about 160 strokes per
minute. But with INTERPLAK.
the ten soft tufts independently
rotate at 4200 r.p.m.! Plus. each
tuft reverses direction 46 times
every second. turning in the op-
posite direction of the neigh-

boring tufts. This allows the
longer tufts to reach into
crevices and between teeth to
"sweep out" plaque and debris.
At the same time. the shorter
tufts scrub tooth surfaces
clean. The extreme softness of
the bristles plus the counter-
rotational motion results in a
gentle massaging of the gums.
You'll find that "your mouth
never felt better!"
The cost of the INTERPLAK is
$99. For more information or to
order. call (313) 398-9010.
