Temple Israel will mark its
45th annual high school gradua-
tion at services at 8 p.m. today.
The graduation class is com-
prised of 50 seniors, almost half
of whom have attended the
Temple Israel Religious School
since kindergarten, a total of 13
years of study.
The class will lead the con-
gregation in worship, and the
class speakers will be Alicia
Beth Erlich, whose subject is
"Thanks for the Memories," and
Steven Eric Glass, who will
speak on "Divided We Fall,
Joined We Triumph."
Awards will be presented for
scholarship, youth group activi-
ties, service and leadership
through the Brenda Bloomberg
Memorial Fund.
Also to be honored are under-
graduates who will receive
scholarships to summer camp
programs of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega-
tions at Kutz Camp in Warwick,
N.Y.
June Kamil, temple president,

will lead the procession of the
graduates into the sanctuary to
begin the service.
Also participating in the
ceremonies will be Linda
Brodsky, Francine Piell, Bryna
Leib, Marilyn Rubin and De-
anna Weinberg, who will pre-
sent diplomas and prayer books
to graduates.
Awards will be given by
Joseph Poisson and David Tis-
dale, school director and chair-
man of the school committee, re-
spectively, and by youth group
advisers Sherrie Stern, Sandra
Stocker and Gilda Poisson.
The 1986 graduation class in-

Kabbalah Workshop
Is Scheduled

Dr. Edward Hoffman of New
York will conduct a Kabbalah
workshop on Sunday at 1:30
p.m. at the Detroit branch of the
Theosophical Society, 2333
Woodward, Berkley. There is a
fee.

Dr. Hoffman received his doc-
torate in psychology from the
University of Michigan. He is
the author of several books on
Jewish mysticism, including The
Way of Splendor, Sparks of
Light and The Heavenly Ladder.

Vision Screening
For Children

Free vision screenings are
being offered by the Oakland
County Health Division to all
Oakland County youngsters
entering kindergarten in Sep-
tember. A vision screening is
required for school enrollment.
The vision screening schedule
at the Southfield office is Mon-
day from 5 to 7 p.m., and Tues-
day through June 6, 9-11 a.m.
No appointments are taken.
