Zvi Brosh

Ambassador Zvi Brosh,
consul-general to Israel to the
Midwest and formerly Israel's
ambassador to Romania, will be
guest speaker at the Cong. B'nai
David silver anniversary dinner
on behalf of State of Israel
Bonds, it was announced by
Mickey Shapiro, dinner chair-
man.
The event, the 25th consecu-
tive din-er for Israel Bonds held
by the ,Juthfield synagogue, is
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 10
in the synagogue's social hall.
Honored at the dinner will be
congregation leaders, mother
and son Goldie and Jerome So-
ble.
Brosh served as minister of
information at the Israel Em-
bassy in Washington for two
separate terms. He has also
served as special adviser to the
mayor of Jerusalem. A member
of Israel's Foreign Service since
1960, he has held a number of
key posts including that of
consul-general of Israel for the
seven Southwestern States,
based in Los Angeles.
His previous appointments
have included those of ambas-
sador to Burma and Sri Lanka,
and counselor for information in
Bonn, West Germany. At the
Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem,
he served twice as chief of the
division for international coop-
eration, which directs Israel's
worldwide program for technical
assistance to the developing
countries. He has represented
Israel at international confer-
ences and negotiations in var-
ious capitals of Europe, Asia
and Latin America.
Born in Germany, he settled
with his family in Jerusalem in
1933. He was deputy chief of the
staff for the late Moshe Dayan,
then a colonel commanding the
defense of Jerusalem. In 1950,
he became the founder and first
director of Israel's Armed Forces
Radio and served as deputy
chief of the news division of
Jerusalem's State Radio. He
later served as a lieutenant col-
onel in the education branch of
the general staff of Israel's
army.
