Heleile Oliva, Medow Home resident, and Joyce Keller, JARC executive director, will accept the award at the seventh annual ACT-DD awards luncheon June 9 at the Southfield Hilton. Nominated by the Huntington Woods City Manager as well as the home's immediate neighbors; the award-winning group of six women were com- mended for maintaining the re- sidence in an "extraordinary fashion" and for their participa- tion in Neighborhood Watch, Concert in the Park and other community activities. The Medow Home was chosen from numerous nominations through- out the tri-county area. To commemorate the achievement, the Medow Haverim Home residents and JARC have been issued a proc- lamation by the city of Hun- tington Woods. "The Awakening of Harris Wolfe", a photo essay by Glenn Triest and written by Ralph Finch published in the Detroit News, received the overall Community News Media Award. The essay follows Wolfe, a resi- dent of the Greenberg/ Shiffman/Stein Haverim Home, during his first year living in the home.
