The Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah is gearing up for their 7th Annual Women's Open Tennis Tournament. The event will be held at the Franklin Racquet Club, June 3-5. Chairperson, Annette Liber- son and her committee are planning even greater participa- tion this year. The tournament provides fun for members and non-members while the proceeds benefit cardio-vascular research at Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. Singles and doubles events at all levels are scheduled. Lunch on Tuesday, continuous re- freshments, tennis shirts, balls and trophies are included. Come watch your favorite players in this exciting tournament. Adar I and II The National President of Hadassah issued a call to all Jewish Leaders and organiza- tions, as well as to our non- Jewish friends to promote tourism to Israel. She said, "If we allow our travel plans to be dictated by terrorists, we hand them a vic- tory and penalize Israel and other democratic countries they have targeted." She also stressed the strict security pre- cautions enforced by the Israeli authorities, as well as those in- volved in caring for visitors. Hadassah calls on all its members to try to make a visit to Israel part of their plans and thus express their solidarity with Israel and their support for her people and her economy. Over $100,000 Raised For Youth Aliyah The annual Part-Time Parent Telethon just completed for Youth Aliyah was a huge suc- cess. Members of the Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah raised more than $100,000. Chairmen Francine Hack and Sherry Lofman and Vice- Presidents of Fund Raising Faye Krut and Marilyn Pickover applaud all the members who gave so generously.
