Cantor Benzion Miller

Young Israel of Greenfield
announces that the world re-
nowned Cantor Benzion Miller
has been selected to provide the
entertainment for its 27th an-
niversary dinner June 25 at the
Novi Hilton. Cocktails will be at
6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30
p.m.
Cantor Miller's singing career
began in childhood, when at age
5, he was called upon to sing at
many public gatherings, such as
"MtatVe
Malka" get togethers,
.-.w•
'ni mitzvah and other Jewish
functions both as head soloist in
t40aeshiva choir and as soloist.
At 18., Cantor Miller accepted
the position of cantor at the
Hillside Jewish Center in Hill-
side, N.J. From there he went
on to positions in the Bronx,
Montreal and Toronto. At pre-
sent, he is chief cantor .of Cong.
Beth-El of Boro Park, a position
hat has been served by the
world famous Mordechai Her-
hman, Berele Chagy and
Moshe Koussevitzky. Miller has
concertized in the United States,
Canada, Israel and Europe.
Cantor Miller was educated at
the Bobover Yeshiva in Brook-
'pi and at the Bobover Yeshiva
Kedushat Zion in Bat Yam, Is-
ael. He received his basic
knowledge and training in chaz-
anut under the guidance of his
ather, Cantor and Mohel Reb
aron Miller. The younger Mil-
er studied music theory and sol-
eggio under Cantor Samuel B.
aube of Montreal, Canada and
ehovot, Israel. He also studied
voice at the Champagne School
of Music in Montreal as well as
'with Dr. Puggell and A. Zfira in
ew York. He is currently
' studying with Maestro Luigi
Marchio.
Miller is equally at home in
operatic repertoire and folk
'music. A Miller concert corn-
pines sacred song with folk
tunes and operatic melody.
