Bonds Honoree

Dr. Laurence Ribiat

Dr. Laurence Ribiat, a life-
long member of Cong. Beth Ab-
raham Hillel Moses, will be
honored by the State of Israel at
the synagogue's annual tribute
dinner for State of Israel Bonds.
The event, scheduled for 6:30
p.m. June 24 in the synagogue's
social hall, will see Dr. Ribiat
presented with the Israel Free-
dom Award, "in recognition of
his outstanding service to his
synagogue and in appreciation
of his support of Israel's eco-
nomic development program."
A native Detroiter, Dr. Ribiat
attended Central High School
and Wayne State University;
then earned a D.O. degree at
the Des Moines College of Oste-
opathic Medicine and Surgery.
He is a member of the Genesee
County, Oakland County,
Michigan and American Osteo-
pathic Assocations.
In addition to his leadership
role with Israel Bonds, Dr.
Ribiat is active in many com-
munal organizations.
Tribute dinner chairman is
Dr. Harris Mainster. In advance
of the dinner Dr. and Mrs.
Mainster `will hold a private Is-
rael Bond leadership reception
in their Bloomfield Hills home
on Wednesday. Guest speaker at
the reception is Michael Bar-
Zohar, noted Israeli author and
a former member of Israel's
Knesset..

Israel, Greece
To Coordinate
Travel Campaign

Athens (JTA) — Israel and
Greece are expected to sign an
agreement for a joint tourism
advertising campaign in the
United States during the five
day visit here of Israel's Min-
ister ' of Tourism, Avraham
Sharir, which began last Sun-
day.
Sharir is the first Israeli
Minister to visit Greece in an of-
ficial capacity since Abba
Eban's visit in 1962 as Minister
of Education. He was greeted at
the airport by Pabliotis Roum-
eliotis, Undersecretary of Na-
tional Economy.
