School Loans
Offered By JELS

Jewish Education Loan Service
is now accepting applications for
the academic year 1986-1987.
The Jewish Educational Loan
Service (JELS) is a group of
philanthropic and priVate service
organizations who pool their
funds to provide interest-free
educational loans to students in
the Jewish community. JELS is
coordinated by the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation of Detroit and
administered through the Jewish
Vocational Service and Commu-
nity Workshop and Hebrew Free
Loan Association.
The educational loan coor-
dinator at Jewish Vocational
Service and Community Work-
shop guides students to sources of
financial aid which may be avail-
able to them from schools. the
government and the general
community. The coordinator
works with the student to develop
a realistic financial plan for the
school year.
To be eligible for a loan from
JELS, the -appliCant must be: a
Jewish resident of metropolitan
Detroit; and a full-time student
pursuing undergraduate,
graduate or technical education
at a professionally accredited
school.
For information, applicants
should contact Edwina Davis,
JELS coordinator, 967-0500, be-
tween 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday
through Friday. This service is
offered at the Jewish Vocational
Service and Community Work-
shop, 25900 Greenfield, Suite
242, Oak Park.
