Mayor Teddy Kollek of
Jerusalem will be a special guest
at the State of Israel Bonds in-
ternational dinner launching a
year-long celebration of the cen-
tennial of David Ben-Gurion, and
honoring 17 world Jewish lead-
ers, among them Max M. Fisher
of Detroit. The dinner will be
held June 1 at the Waldorf As-
toria Hotel in New York. In ad-
vance of the dinner, Paul and
Marlene Borman will host a pri-
vate cocktail reception honoring
Fisher.
Israel Prime Minister Shimon
Peres will be the principal
speaker at the dinner, it was an-
nounced by David B. Hermelin,
international campaign chair-
man of the Israel Bond Organiza-
tion.
Detroit's Fisher is a noted
industrialist and philanthropist
who served as special adviser on
Jewish affairs to Presidents
Nixon and Ford. A former chair-
man of the Board of Governors of
the Jewish Agency for 12 years
and its present life chairman, he
is world chairman of "Operation
Independence" for Israel.
Other honorees are Ambas-
sador Walter H. Annenberg of
Philadelphia, Arthur Belfer of
New York, William Belzberg of
Los Angeles, Lester Crown of
Chicago, Morton L. Mandel of
Cleveland, Harvey M. Meyerhoff
of Baltimore, Donald M. Robin-
son of Pittsburgh, Sam Rothberg,
international chairman of Israel
Bonds; Robert H. Smith of Wash-
ington, D.C., Henry Taub of New
Jersey and Jack D. Weiler of New
York.
Also, Charles Bronfman -of
Canada, Baron Edmond de
Rothschild of France, Lord Sieff
of Brimpton, Claude Kelman of
Paris and Shimshon Feldman of
Mexico.
Prime- Minister Peres will pre-
sent the honorees with the Ben-
Gurion Centennial Medal, in
recognition of their "exemplary
service to Israel, the Jewish
people and the community at
large."
The Bond Organization's cele-
bration of Ben-Gurion's 100th
birthday will focus on his
pioneering efforts to lay the
foundations of a sound economy
for the newborn state.
Between 20 and 30 Detroiters
are expected to attend the dinner.

Spiritual Adoption
For Service Club
The Social Service Club of the
Jewish Community Center pre-
sented a check for a spiritual
adoption to the Greater Detroit
Council, Naamat USA. This is
the club's seventh Spiritual
Adoption.
Making the presentation were:
Sadie Gold, treasurer; Sophia
Hoffman, Social Service Club
president; Ann Kaplan, council
president; Esther Fishman,
Jewish Community Center
liaison; and Helen Singer, past
president of Senior Adult Coun-
