Capitol Marks Holocaust

Children and grandchildren of
Holocaust survivors will be fea-
tured in the annual State of
Michigan Holocaust Commem-
oration, which will be held Tues-
day at noon in the Lansing
Capitol Building Rotunda. Rep.
Maxine Berman will preside.
Participants in a candlelight-
ing ceremony, during which
poems from! Never Saw Another
Butterfly, written by children in
the Theresienstadt concentration
camp, will be read, include Simon
Rotherg, Amy Rotberg, Jeffrey
Rotherg, Betty Rotberg-Ellias
and Charles Ellias from the De-
troit area, all children and
grandchildren of survivors.
()instate communities will be
represented by survivor Peppy
Rosenthal and her daughter
Cheri Dickenson of Grand Blanc;
David Schwarz of Coldwater, a
survivor's son; Michael Offen, a
survivor's son from East Lansing;
and ('ynthia and Robert Frey of
Ana Arbor, daughter and
grandson of a survivor.

Rabbi Morton Hoffman of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek in East
Lansing and Dr. Hank
Greenspan of Ann Arbor, who re-
presents Children of Holocaust
Survivors Association in Michi-
gan, will deliver opening re-
marks.
Musical selections will be per-
formed by Gabriel and Miriam
1 13olkosky, children of Dr. Sidney
and Lori Bolkosky. Paul Winter
will accompany the cellist and
violinist with poetry readings.
Cantor Max Shimansky of
Cong. Beth Achim will sing The
Boy and Ills Fiddle and students
of the Hebrew Day School of Ann
Arbor will close the program with
Ani Ma-amin and Eli Eli.
A final benediction will be
given by Rabbi Charles
Rosenzveig, director of the
Holocaust Memorial Center.
