LADIES DEPARTMENT OF
MICHIGAN will hold its regular
department meeting on Monday
at 8 p.m. President Elaine Levy
will give a report on national
president's visit just completed.
The slate of officers for the com-
ing year will be presented. Shir-
lee Snider, convention chairman,
will give a report. Refreshments
and social hour to follow, chaired
by Adele Simms, past depart-
ment president. For information,

Mrs. Simms was co-chairman for
the recent goodwill luncheon.
The Ladies Department and its
auxiliaries will co-sponsor a
paid-up membership dinner and
an evening of entertainment on
Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the
Jewish War Veterans social hall.
Entertainment will be provided
by Max Sosin and Eric Rosenow.
Members must be currently
paid up to their auxiliary and
reservations are a must. Chair-
man for this event is Shirley
Schlussel. President Elaine Levy
invites guests.

CHARLES SHAPIRO POST
AND AUXILIARY will have
their 39th installation of officers
on May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Pun-
chinello's, 210 S. Woodward Ave.,
Birmingham. Reservation dead-

SOL YETS-MORRIS COHEN
POST AND AUXILIARY will
meet on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at
the Jewish War Veterans Memo-
rial Home. Nomination and elec-
tion of officers will be held.
The Yetz-Cohen Auxiliary and
the Lipshaw-Hoberman Auxil-
iary will service patients at the
Allen Park medical facility on
Sunday at 9 a.m. with a chapel
hour breakfast.

Temple Israel Sisterhood in-
stallation luncheon on May 12 at
noon will feature a musical pro-
gram entitled, "An Afternoon in
Israel."
The program, under the direc-
tion of Cantor Harold Orbach,
will highlight the voices of Or-
bach, a lyric tenor, and, his two
guest performers, Assen Vas-
silev, a leading bass baritone of
the Israeli National Opera and
Marjorie Gordon, soprano.
Orbach has appeared on televi-
sion, made recordings and' per-
formed in concerts. His world
premieres include: Brubeck's The
Gates of Justice, Bernstein's Dyb-
buk Variations and National TV
Award-winning Isaac Levi.
Vassilev has sung with the Is-
raeli Symphony, BBC Symphony
and the London Festival. Ms.
Gordon-has sung with the Piccolo
Opera Company, 'Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and, the New
York, Philharmonic.
The sisterhood invites the
