David and Lottie Tanzman

David Tanzman, regional vice

Lottie, will be honored at the an-
nual dinner of the Eretz Israel
Commission of the National
Council of Young Israel on June 1
at the Vista International at the
World Trade Center in Manhat-
tan. Proceeds from the banquet
and its journal will be dedicated
to the support of the growing
Young Israel synagogue move-

Tanzman has a long record as a
lay leader of the Young Israel
movement. Beginning in New
York as a youth at the Young Is-
rael of Parkchester, he later
served as a Baal Musaf for five
years at the Young Israel of
Oak-Woods in the Detroit area,
and then as founder and officer of
the Young Israel of Greenfield.

National Council of Young Israel
with the Shofar Award, and has
served as a delegate to national
council conventions, and on many
key committees of the Metropoli-
tan Detroit Council of Young Is-
rael.
Mrs. Tanzman's involvement
in the movement goes back to her
youth at the Young Israel of
Williamsburg.
Tanzman was one of the
originators of the annual mem-
bership concept in the NCYI
Eretz Israel CommissiOn. He is a
leader of the group within the

Metropolitan Detroit Council
providing support for Young Is-
rael social programs in Israel in
