Morris Dorn, for four decades a
leader in Orthodox Jewish circles
and chairman of the Mo'os
Chitim fund to help needy Jews
at Passover, died April 23 at age
83.
Born in Poland, Mr. Dorn lived
65 years in Detroit. In 1921, he
started the Dorn Fruit and Pro-
duce business in Eastern Market.
He since retired from the busi-
ness and assumed the chairman-
ship of Mo'os Chitim.
He was a past president and
current treasurer of the Hebrew
Benevolent Society of which he
was an active supporter. He also
was a supporter and past
presidnet of Cong. Beth Tefilo
Emanuel Tikvah. Mr. Dorn was a
past president of the Jewish
House of Shelter. His pet project
was to conduct picnics for the
