Israeli jurist Judge Hadassah
Ben Itto, who is in the United
States under the combined au-
spices of the American Section of
the International Association of
Jewish Lawyers and Jurists and
the World Zionist Organization,
will speak in the Detroit area
next week.
Judge Ben Itto will speak in
Ann Arbor at the Hillel Founda-
tion at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at
Cong. Beth Shalom in Oak Park,
at 7:30 p.m. Both events are open
to the public.
She will speak on continuing
ramifications of the U.N.'s'
"Zionism is racism" resolution. '
Judge Ben Itto was a member
of Israel's delegation to the U.N.
when the committee on which she
served passed the "Zionism is ra-
cism" resolution. She has twice.
held the temporary rank of Is-
rael's ambassador to the United
Nations and has represented Is-
rael at other international meet-
ings.
She has been a scholar in resi-
dence in Denver, Colo., served in
the Israeli Army during the War
of Independence and has sat on
the Israel Supreme Court. She
currently sits in .Tel Aviv. The
visit to the Detroit area is spon-
sored by the American Section of
the International Association of
Jewish Lawyers and Jurists.
Three members of the organiza-
tion's board of governors are from
the Detroit area: Judge Avern
Cohn and attorneys Michael Bin-
der and Ronal°. P. Sandler, who is
also the program chairman. The
general public is welcome.
