Col. Muammar Qaddafi has
admitted his guilt in terrorist
acts. He declared war,' and has
been at war with the Free World
since 1979. If a bully keeps strik-
ing you, are you supposed to wait
until he kills you and then strike
back?
Jessie Jackson says that by de-
fending ourselves against Col.
Qaddafi it gives him prestige
with anti-Ameridin 'forces. Why
should we cater to anti:American
forces? Israel, with the smartest
and most courageous army in the
world, has found through experi-
ence that hitting back at ter-
rorists eliminates most of the vio-
lence. When Arafat's terrorists
hit Israel and Israel fought back,
Arafat went crying' to the world
.. The same applies to. the
United-States and Qaddafi,
. Col. Qaddafi is a cancer to the
world, and should be removed
immediately before the cancer
spreads. He has hypnotized his
own people to commit suicide.

France's Shame
In Libya Strike

, The French people should hold
their heads in shame for their
government's refusal to allow
U.S. military air access in order
to strike'at the heart of a terroris-
tic fanatic country — Libya.
Forty some years ago, U.S.
soldiers were welcomed on
French soil to help wipe out a
Nati terrorist regime. The vic- ,
tory march in Paris a few years
later saw millions of people,
through their combined efforts,
eliminate terrorism. The French
people- held their heads high and
were proud at the time to do what
they had to do.
Today Will a different story.
The billions of dollars in trade
with the Libyan regime has
caused the French government to
turn their heads away from peace
and freedom. Anti-Semitism has
flourished for the appeasement of
terrorism, in particular the
Palestine Liberation Organiza-
tion.
The philosophy of ignoring lib-
erty, freedom and safety for
others and in time for themselves
saw a once prouii nation bowing
to known and avowed terrorists
and turning their backs on an old
friend- the United States.
If the trade dollar is so impor-
tant to the French government,
then the people of the United

Israel's Dilemma
On Mormon Center
The article "Israel's Morman
Dilemma" (April 11) brought to
memory two incidents seven
years ago, a pair of clean-cut, im-
peccably dressed young men
came to our Bronx home and told
us that they were Mormon "el-
ders" and they would like to talk
to us. I would have politely dis-
missed them as I did so often with
the Jehovah's Witnesses who
Were frequent visitors to our
neighborhood. However, inquisi-
tive and broadminded that my
son was, and still is, he invited
them to come in.
They went back and forth at
length until I felt rather uneasy
and decided to intervene. I told
my son I do not see the wisdom in
their continued visits and for
once he agreed with me and told
theni kindly that he learned all
he wanted and there is no need to
come again. Needless to say, for
them, whose mission it is to re-
cruit more souls to their religion,
these were hardly the desired re-
sults.
Last summer on a TWA flight
to Israel I met a young man who
told me he studies at the Univer-
sity of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Assuming he was a Mormon, I
asked him if he heard of the in-
tended center- in Jerusalem. He
told me he was not a Mormon and
vehemently added that Israel
should not allow the center be-
cause everyone knows it's for the
sole purpose - of proselytizing .. .
Israel should follow the age-old
Hebrew saying, kabdehu v'has-
dehu — respect him and suspect
him.

approach to the non-Jewish vis-

Center who suggested that the

the alleged taking the life of the
Christian -deity some 2000 years
ago ... may have given him a
measure of satisfaction, but was
it the right answer? This writer
would have to say no, for it was
psychologically disastrous . . .
An attempt should have been
made to disuade her from her
thinking. While her leanings
were evident, yet she posed the
thought in the form of a question
as if seeking information. To
which the answer could have
been that the Papacy itself some
time back absolved the Jewish
peole from that charge . . .
On the other hand, if the
woman was evil-minded toward
us, then by telling her that the
object of worship, be that saint or
satan, was capable of taking the
lives of 1.5 million Jewish chil-
