"My cholesterol level used to be in the danger zone, but a change of diet has lowered it by 20 percent." Eight chefs scheduled for ap- pearance at Foland's locations are creating heart-healthy de- lights based on guidelines estab- lished by American Heart Asso- ciation of Michigan. The All-American Home Show features area chefs plus cookware demonstrations by Oster Far- berware, Hamilton Beach and Kitchen Aid, etc. . . . with all cookware manufacturers prepar- ing low-cholesterol foods ... Norelco is even providing regis- tered nurses to take blood pres- sure of customers who attend Fo- land's Dearborn, Livonia and Rochester stores through Sunday . . . She'll also be at Foland's Smithfield store on Greenfield tomorrow from 12 noon to 4 p.m. TWO OF MICHIGAN'S top wildlife artists and world cham- pion wood carvers will appear and show their works at the 8th Annual River , Crab Salmon Stakes fishing tourney tomorrow, 11 a.m. til 4 p.m. The tourney and accompanying raffle is a benefit for the Blue Water Clinic's program of child abuse prevention and treatment in Port Huron area. Jim Foote of Gibraltar, ranked by many as the top wildlife artist in Michigan, will appear with the Wildwings Gallery exhibit and sale on enclosed porch of Chuck Muer's River Crab restaurant, St. Clair River, just north of St. Clair, Mich. The restaurant is headquarters for tourney ... and will also host weighng-in of huge salmon and trout from 1-3 p.m., a free trout pond for kids and displays of fish- ing tackle and boats. Betsy Piper of Harsen's Island, who won the 1984 champion wildlife carving title in Ocean City, Md., will demonstrate pry- • ing a duck model, which typically requires 600 hours of work to complete . . . She'll also show a number of carvings, including her famous Canada goose, which required six months of work ... and won several blue ribbons at international, world and North American competitions.
