Reverend Lyons

The men's club of Cong.
ShaareY Zedek will honor Rev.
James R. Lyons at Men's Club
Shabbat at 8:45 a.m. May 3 at
Shaarey Zedek.
Lyons, executive director of
the Ecumenical Intitute for
Jewish-Christian Studies, will
be honored "for his efforts to
combat theological and social
anti-Semitism, as well as his
consistent efforts to create a
climate of mutual respect be-
tween Christians and Jews."
The sermon on brotherhood
will be delivered about 11:40
a.m. and luncheon will be
served at 12:30 p.m.
Rev. Lyons is the second
non-Jew to receive the men's
club honor. Fr. Clement Kern,
pastor of Holy Trinity Church in
Detroit, received the men's club
award in 1978.

Blood Pressure
Classes Offered

The Oakland County Health
Division will offer a series of
five blood pressure control
classes to residents of Oakland
County at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at
the Oakland County Health Di-
vision's South office, 27725
Greenfield, Southfield, begin-
ning May 6.
All classes are free but pre-
registration is required as class
size is limited.
