Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Edelson of
Huntington Woods announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Julie Lynn, to Scott Aaron Hal-
pert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ned
Halpert of Beachwood, Ohio.
Ms. Edelson earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in
English at the University of
Michigan. She is currently em-
ployed as an associate editor for
the Environmental Policy Alert,
an Inside Washington publica-
tion in Washington, D.C. Ms.
Edelson also serves as a theatre

and dance critic for the Alexan-
dria Gazette in Virginia.
Her fiance earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Economics at
the University of Michigan, and
will graduate from the Ohio
State University College of Law
in May. Following graduation,
he will be employed as an asso-
ciate with the law firm of Sem-
mes, Bowen and Semmes in Bal-
timore, Md.
Following ,a September wed-
ding, the couple plan to reside
in the Washington, D.C. area.
