Mystery Weekend
To Host Author
William X. Kienzle, author of
The Rosary Murders, will be the
guest speaker at the "Murder at
the Grand" murder mystery
weekend June 6-9 at the Grand
Hotel, Mackinac Island.
Set in the year 1925, the
weekend will include the chance
to solve a "murder," parties,
mystery games, visits to island
sites, lodging, all meals,
entertainment, champagne re-
ceptions, Monte Carlo night and

Variety Club
Ball Planned
The sixth annual Variety
Club of Detroit celebrity ball
will take place May 10 at 7 p.m.
at the Michigan Inn.
This year's ball honors De-
troit's resident Broadway pro-
ducer, Ivan S. Bloch. Proceeds
from the event will benefit
Children's Hospital of Michigan,
the Variety Club Electronic
Limb Research Center at the
Detroit Institute for Children
and other children's charities.
