• I ll i ",! NEWS Tel Aviv (JTA) — Prime Minister Shimon Peres 'returned home last week from his three days of talks with U.S. officials in Washington and with Jewish leaders in New York, apparent- ly well satisfied with his meet- ings there. He told a press conference that the atmosphere in the Washington meetings had been friendly and very exhilerating, hinting that there were more possibilities of advancement towards peace than is generally . recognized. He said that U.S. vice-Pres- ident George Bush would pro- bably visit Israel in July. In a statement, Peres said, "I spent three days in the United States. The visit was in two parts: In Washington and New York — in Washington chiefly with the Administration, in New York chiefly with the Jews. "In Washington the main topics were the economic task force, with the State Depart- ment holding a luncheon for all the leaders of the team and the Secretary of State declaring his unequivocal support for aid for expanding economic activity with and for Israel, his support for growth and for stabilizing the economy. "Naturally we discussed the general situation in the Middle East, including the idea of developing an economic plan for the entire Middle East with the participation of the Europeans, the Japanese and others.
