Rae Margolis Adele Mondry Adele Esther Mondry, the co- founder with her late husband of Highland Appliance, died April 4 at age 86. Born in Poland, Mrs. Mondry came to Detroit in 1920. She began' her business career in her uncle's appliance shop and later she and her husband opened their own business. The store grew into a chain of ten in Detroit and 32 more throughout the country. Always wanting to have a formal education, Mrs. Mondry eared her high school diploma at age 48. Ten years ,later she earned a bachelor's degree at Wayne State University. _ Active in Jewish organiza- tions, Mrs. Mondry held offices in Hadassah; Naamat USA (formerly Pioneer Women) and in the Labor Zionist Alliance. She was a member of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and was a foun- der of Women's Reading Circle. She was noted for her book review and in 'the 1970s pub- lished her autobiography, Rae Margolis, past president of the Aesculapian Pharmaceut- ical Fraternity Auxiliary, died April 5 at age 80. Born in Russia, Mrs. Margolis was a member of Cong. Beth Achim and its sisterhood, and Hadassah. She leaves her husband, Hy- man; a son, Phillip, a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Roselyn) Kohn; a ' sister, Mrs. Ida Kavesky;* and four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Alice Rotenberg Alice Rotenberg, a member of Jewish women's organizations, died April 7 at age 92. Born in Russia, Mrs. Roten- berg was a member of Cong. B'nai David, B'nai B'rith and Naamat USA.
