I. Irving (Cecilia) Feldman.

NELLIE WOLF, 91, of South-
field, died April 1. Survived by a
son, Henry; two daughters, Mrs.
Max (Trude) Lumelsky and Mrs.
Edward (Ilse) Goldberg; four
grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

KATE WOLSTEIN, 84, died
March 29. She leaves two

Goldman and Mrs. Earl (Lor-
raine) Krentzin; three grand-
children and one great-grand-
child.

PAULINE ZELICKMAN, 82,
former Detroiter of Tucson,
Ariz., died March 13. Survived
by her husband, Norman; two
daughters, Marilyn Brainin of
Oak Park and Adele Miller of
Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Rebecca
Lander of Ohio; a brother, Max
Press of Ohio; and five grand-
children. Interment. Arizona.

SZAJA ZYLBERMAN, 78, of
Oak Park, died March 30. Sur-
vived by his wife, Sima; two •
daughters, Mrs. Lev (Anna)
Kharmatsky of Silver Spring,
Md., and Mrs. Izoslav (Dora)
Vald; a sister, Nechama
Bitensky of Israel; and two
grandchildren.

Market Pioneer Dies

father, the late Thomas Borman,
on their regular visits to her,
sensed gestures from her by lips
and eyelids.
Mrs. Borman, who was born
in Lachovitch, came here as a
teenager. Her son Paul said his
mother helped her father in his
first food market venture which
led to. the creation of the Farmer
Jack supermarkets. He said his
mother trained her brothers
-in-law who. were Thomas's
partners in the conduct of the
first markets.
Mrs. Borman died in Borman
Hall of the Jewish Home for the
Aged, named in the family's
honor.
Besides her son, Mrs. Borman
leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ab-
raham (Yetta) Chover of Madi-
son,. Wis., and Mrs. Jacob
(Mildred) Gelfand; and one
grandaughter.

A lifetime of leadership posi-
tions in a variety of communal
movements and causes ended
here March 27 with the passing
of Sarah Dorothy Borman.
Before being felled by a coma
nine years ago, Mrs. Borman,
85, had a top leadership role as
co-founder of the Women's Di-
vision of State of Israel Bonds.
She was a chairwoman of Chana
Czenesh Pioneer Women's (now
Naamat USA) Chapter. With
her late husband she shared an
interest in the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America, and their ac-
tivity in the Jewish National
Fund resulted in the planting of
the Sarah and Thomas Borman
Forest in Israel. Their work ex-
tended to the Magen David
Adorn, the Israel Red Cross, and
other causes.
She was especially devoted to
Hadassah and the Women's Di-
vision of the Jewish Welfare
Federation.
Her nine years in a coma'
were not viewed by the family
as "totally silent." Her son Paul
D. Borman, the current co-
chairnlan of the Allied Jewish
Campaign, who is chief federal
defender for the U. S. District
Court in Detroit, said he and his

Isador Strub

Isador Strub, a grocery store
owner, died March 27 at age 93.
Born in Latvia, Mr. Strub
came to the U.S. 75 years ago.
He opened his Dearborn store in
1931 and retired in '1965. Mr.
Strub was a World War I vete-
ran, having served in the U.S.
Navy. He was . a member of the
Dearborn Chamber. of Commerce
and its board. •
He was a supporter of Green-
field Village and Henry Ford
Museum. In 1961, he was
awarded Dearborn Chamber of
Commerce's "outstanding citizen
of the year" award.
He was a life, member of the
American Legion, the Shriners,
the Oasis Club of the Moslem
Temple, the Rotary Found4tion,
which awarded him the Paul
Harris Fellowship Award, and
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
He is survived by nephews,
Daniel Straub and Irving Straub
of Hamilton, Ont., Dr. Irvin
Straub of Chicago, Ill.. a niece,
'
Mrs. Sylvia Miller of Toronto;
and
and grandnieces .
