each and everyone of them for their con
cern and many kindnesses during Joe's
recent hospitalization and the shiva
period that followed his demise.

ter, Mrs. James (Sandra Reva)
Hendin; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah
Agree and Mrs. Arnold (Ruth)
Greenbaum; and three grand-
children.

MAX W. BRECHER, 75, died
March 26. He leaves his wife,
Betty; three sisters, Mrs. Max
(Nancy) Kolar, Mrs. Alfred
(Dorothy) Carducci of Avon
Park, Fla., and Mrs. Sidney

73, of Oak Park, died March 27.
Survived by her husband,

ard (Laurie) Faber; a brother,
Julian R. Winston; a sister, Mrs.
Morris (Ann) Schwartz; and four
grandchildren.

BEN B. FINKEL, 70, died
March 26. He leaves his wife,
Sally; two sons, Dr. Sanford of
Wilmette, Ill., and Arnold; two
daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Bar-
bara) Leviton of Atlantic Beach,
N.Y., and Maxine Kramer of
LaJolla, Calif.; two brothers, Is-

GERTRUDE FISHMAN, 81, of
Southfield, died March 26. Sur-
vived by two sons, Lloyd and

Levitt; eight grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.

JULIA HAUPTMAN, 61, died
March 30. She leaves her hus-
band, Murray; two sons, Larry
of Ann Arbor and Mitchell of
Lakeport, Calif.; a daughter,
Susan of Oakland, Calif.; a
brother, Dr. David Gudes; and
three grandchildren.

JACK HENCKEN, 76, died
March 25. He leaves his wife,
Estelle; a son, Richard; two
daughters, Judee and Mrs. De-
nnis (Lynda) Meeuws; two
brothers, Irving and Bernard,
both of Margate, Fla.; a sister,
Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Israel; and
three grandchildren.

FLORENCE KURTZ, 63, died
March 30. She leaves- her hus-
band, Lawrence; two daughters,
Joan of New Orleans, La., and

died March 29. He leaves his
wife, Irene; a daughter, Mrs.
Jack (Evelyn) Goldberg of St.
Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters,

ton, Fla., and Mrs. Gert Banner
of Hollywood, Fla.; two grand-
children and seven great-grand-
children.

SADIE NOVAK, 73, died April
1. She leaves her husband,
David; a son, Paul; three daugh-
ters, Mrs. David (Esther) Wein-
garten, Mrs. Emmanuel (Har-
riett) Patchakos and Mrs.
Eugene . (Rochelle) Perlman; two
sisters, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Evintz
of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs.
Joseph (Dorothy) Sommers of
California; 15 grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.

died March 29. She leaves her
mother, Mrs. Emil (Helen) Phil-

died March 30. She leaves a
brother, Harold Wade of Lodi,
N.J.

LILLIAN SCHANZ, 75, died
March 26. She leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Sherwin (Bar-
bara) Sokolov and Mrs. Harold
(Marsha). Shabsove of Petrolia,
Ont.; a son, Edward; two sisters,
Mrs. Samuel (Grace) Safier and
Mrs. Stanley (Ruth) Katz, both
of Youngstown, Ohio; and ten
grandchildren.

RALPH SHIFFMAN, 78,
former Detroiter of Naples, Fla.,
died Match 27. Survived by his
wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Mrs.
Sam (Joan) Gowan of Gaines-
ville, Fla.; a son, Robert of
Chesapeake Bay, Md.; two
brothers, David of Bay City and
Victor of Irvine, Calif.; a sister,
Elaine Krohn Burton of South-
field; and five grandchildren.
Interment Naples.

MARIE T. (ORNSTEIN) SIL-
VERMAN, 81, died March 30.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs.
Douglas (Betty Rae) Sherman; a
brother, Edward Ornstein of Ft.
