tion on "The State of Israel: Is-.
raeli and Arab Conflicts" will
take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednes-

the guest speaker. Refreshments

The Chai Singles Ski Club of
the CNJS will have a Trivial

New Mandarin Garden restau-

Mission Planned



SPACE, a non-sectarian com-
munity service of the National
Council of Jewish Women
Greater Detroit Section will
hold Symposium '86, "Sym-
posium on Singlehood and Cele-
bration: A Day Without Proh-
lems," featuring Dr. Paul Pear-
sall, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April
13 at Southfield High School.
The program is designed to
allow separated, divorced and
widowed singles to relax and
experience positive &motions. In
a world full of stress, a "mirth-
day" program is planned which
will enable participants to go
beyond survival techniques and
reclaim their youthful char-
acteristics.
Research on the "Psychology
of Wellness" will be discussed by
Dr. Pearsall with highlights on
the roles of imagery and con-
sciousness. Relaxation, tech-
niques will be demonstrated and
a second, presentation, "Beyond
Health and Normality," will be
used to explore ways in winich
one's total human potential can
be unleased.

Plans are under way for the
United Jewish Appeal's Na-
tional Singles Mission to Israel,
set for Aug. 17-27.
Sponsored locally by the
Jewish Welfare Federation
Young Adult Division, the mis-
sion is open to men and women
age 24 to 40. A limited number
of seats exist for the mission.
Interested persons are invited
to attend one of two information
meetings; 7:30 p.m. Thursday at
the United Hebrew Schools'
Friedman Conference Room, or
7:45 p.m. April 17 in the home
of Ben and Marty Rosenthal.
Past mission participants will
be on hand at both meetings to
show slides and discuss their
experiences.
Among the many points of
interest, mission participants
will visit Ranila, Detroit's Proj-
ect Renewal sister city. The
group will see the country, meet
with its people, and participate
in a wide variety of informal so-
cial activities.
