i * * * SYNAGOGUE Rabbis' Tribute Slated Tuesday The Council • of Orthodox Rab- bis of Greater Detroit will con- duct a service in memory of Rabbis Yaakov Kamenetsky and Moshe Feinstein-at 8 p.m. Tues- day at Cong. Dovid Ben Nuchim. Rabbi Kamenetsky, who died March 10, was the dean of Mesivta Torah Vodaath, a senior member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah (Council of Torah Sages) of Agudath Israel of America and one of the foremost authorities in Jewish law and practice. Rabbi Feinstein, who died March 23, was one of the world's leading authorities on Jewish law and wrote numerous texts of Response and Talmudic com- mentary. Members of the Detroit rabbi- nate and roshei yeshivah will address the forum, which is open to the community. According to the Council of Orthodox Rabbis, the purpose of the assembly is "to increase our dedication to the study of Torah, and the observance of mitzvot." Aleynu Class On Judaism's Goals Aleynu of Metro Detroit is presenting a series of classes which deal with the goals of Judaism. At 8:30 p.m. Monday, on April 14, the discussion will be on sleeping while awake and being aware during sleep. Rabbi Tol- win is educational director of Aleynu. The Jewish Cultural Council of Grand Rapids will present a lecture featuring Hirsh Good- man, 8 p.m. Sunday at Temple Emanuel, Grand Rapids. Goodman is'defense and polit- ical commentator for the Jerusalem Post. His topic will be: "The Strategic Balance in the Mideast: An Analysis of the Present and a Peep • at the Fu- ture."
