He practiced law with the late Mr. Harry Rosen for many years in the firm of Goldsmith and Rosen. He was appointed a Wayne County Public Administrator in 1949 by then Gov. G. Mennen Williams and Stephen J. Roth, attorney general. He is still an active county public adminis- trator and also a special assis- tant attorney general. He is a former president of the Downtown Synagogue. Goldsmith was very active in the labor movement and served as former counsel for the UAW. He remains an active member of the Democratic Party.
