Rep. Sander Levin will open
the Jewish Community Council
"Education Forum: Towards
Summit II" on April 13 at 1:30
p.m. at the main Jewish Corn-
munity Center.
Jeannie Weiner, chairman of
the Council's Detroit Soviet
Jewry Committee (DSJC), has
announced the appointment of
Betsy Winkelman as coordinator
of the day's events.
Council's DSJC has organized
the program to urge the com-
munity to re-examine the plight
of Soviet Jewry and to organize
action to ensure the issue's in-
clusion as an agenda item at the
upcoming summit meeting be-
tween President Reagan and
Soviet leader Mikhail Gor-
bachev.
Addressing his remarks to re-
cent visits with Jews in the
Soviet Union who have been re-
fused exit visas, Levin will pre-
cede a keynote address to be de-
livered by the National Confer-
ence on Soviet Jewry's Washing-
ton representative, William
Keyserling.
A closing call to community
action will be delivered by Ab-
raham J. Bayer, international
commission director for the Na-
tional Jewish Community Rela-
tions Advisory Council. During
the forum, Bayer and Keyserl-
ing will conduct workshops on
political action and cultural ex-
change.
The forum is open to the
community and there is no

sent three spring-break work-
shops at the Children's Museum,
67 E. Kirby, Detroit on Monday,
Wednesday and April 4 at 2
p.m.
"Mirrors, Masks and Games"
