As part of its educational out- reach efforts to Detroit's various ethnic and racial communities, the Jewish Community Council will co-sponsor a panel discus- sion titled "Racism,' Prejudice, and Pre-Holocaust Conditions" at the Detroit Historical Museum, 5201 Woodward, on April 6 at 3 p.m. The program is being held in conjunction with the "Anne Frank in the World" exhibit, which will be at the Historical Museum today through April 16. Panelists include Dr. John Mames, a Holocaust survivor and member of Shaarit Hap- laytah; Arthur Johnson, vice president for community rela- tions at Wayne State Univer- sity; and Ly Sing Ung, a 17- year-old Cambadian refugee. Horace Sheffield, president emeritus of the Detroit Associa- tion of Black Organizations, will moderate the panel. Focus of the discussion will be how indifference to human rights violations and the condi- tions of fellow human beings can lead to tragedy. The community is invited and there is no charge.
