Adult B'not Mitzvah
At Temple Today

Temple Kol Ami will celeb-
rate its first adult b'not mitzvah
at services at 7:30 p.m.-today.
The b'not mitzvah are: Lor-
raine Baren Fenster, Judith Go-
ren, Leah Green, Elaine Hecker,
Sharon Krause, Ilene Judith Lee
and Gail Raben.
In preparation for their b'not
mitzvah, the women have pur-
sued more than a year of inten-
sive study of Hebrew and the
prayerbook with the temple's
spiritual leader, Rabbi Ernst
Conrad.
The women will recite pas-
sages from the Shabbat Eve
• prayer service, from the weekly
. Torah portion and from the Haf-
torah. The prophetic selection
will be from the story of Esther.
The celebrants will sponsor a
special Oneg Shabbat following
the services.

Rabbis Honored
By RIETS

Rabbi Ely Rosenzveig of South
Bend, Ind. son of Detroiters
Rabbi and Mrs. Charles
Rosenzveig, will be among 100
rabbis who will be honored
April 6 at the Rabbi Isaac El-
chanan Theological Seminary
(RIETS) of Yeshiva University
in New York.
The rabbis will be cited at the
seminary's Chag HaSemikhah
(celebration of ordination) cere-
monies marking the seminary's
100th anniversary.
Rabbi Ely Rosenzveig gave up
a law career to study for the
rabbinate. He was ordained last
year. His father, executive di-
rector of the Holocaust Memo-
rial Center, was ordained at
RIETS in 1949.
Another honoree will be Rabbi
Lawrence Steven Zierler, a na-
tive of Sarnia, Ontario. Or-
dained this year, Rabbi Zierler
has been named assistant direc-
tor of the Hillel Foundation at
the University of Michigan.
