to wholesale his designs.
Along the way he received
much recognition for his work. In
1983, he was nominated by
DuPont for "An American
Original Award" and in 1984,
Josef was nominated for the
"More Fashion Award." Trend
Magazine voted him number
one fashion designer for
women's designs.
His biggest breat came in
1981, when the Boston Bonwit
Teller picked up his designs to
introduce them nationally.
Spending 12-plus hours per day
designing and managing his
business, Josef has another
achievement of which to be
proud. Like Mackie and Miller, hs
fashions have been showcased
on TV.
He said wool jersey is his
favorite fabric, but "it depends on
the day; it depends on the ideas"
in choosing a fabric for a design.
A partnership exists between
Josef's creations and the woman
who wears them. He can give
them a look, but it's the wearer
who gives them the attitude. "The
glamour comes from inside of
you," he admonishes.
But it doesn't hurt to have a little
bit of the David Josef touch.

arm weather doesn't

fragrance. If your skin
becomes oilier in warm
weather, it may hold a scent
longer, so you need to wear
less or lighter scents. Try a
clean, green citrus fragrance
for the warm weather.
