T-shirt at Peanuts has fruits
resembling people sitting in a
chair, sipping lemonade.
Another hot seller is jams.
Jams are printed, surfer shorts
with a drawstring waist. Jams will
be popular with children and
adults.
For the infants, musical bibs
are a new sound. Mom can push
the button on the corner of the
bib, and baby will hear a favorite
nursery rhyme with meals.
For teens some of the hot
brands are still ID, Espirit, Ton
Sur Ton, and Guess. Ethel
Siegal, of Complaisant in
Farmington Hills, sells a
tremendous amount of Guess
jeans. "We sell Guess to
everyone, because it fits."
Denim is also fashionable this
season. But the denim of
spring/summer '86 is bleached
looking or stone-washed.
Lois Rubin, of Ingenue in
Southfield, just returned from
California and notices that silver
studded belts, T-shirts, sweats,
and jackets are popular.

comeback trail with all
the traditional trappings of a
ranch hand—plaids and floral
prints, chambray and denim
shirts worn with blue jeans and
well-worn jeans jackets. Take a
closer look and you'll see that
the plaids have been reworked
in fresh bright colors like
orange and aqua and the
denim jeans are tie-dyed
or batiks.
In many cases, the revival of
western wear is seen in the
subtle use of accessories
bolo ties, Indian-beaded belts,
fancy belt buckles, hats and
boots — worn with basic five-
pocket jeans and jeans jacket.
