Black patent leather, black and white leathers, individually, or combined in variations of the spectator-look, are still very big, as are the basic beige and bone. A new fashion basic is red. Textures are also as important as color this season. Zerman says that "we're selling lots of prints and metallics, primarily in gold and silver; as well as a lot of color. Most of our high-fashion customers like bright, trendy colors. "We're also showing a lot of snakeskin, which is very important," he said. "Women like it because it's very rich looking." Dyed snakeskin is also a big seller at Greg Shoes in Southfield, says manager Randy Kreif.
