Joshua Barron will twin his bar
mitzvah on Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
at Cong. Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses with Igor Stanislaysky of
Mold, SSR, USSR.
Igor is the son of Efim and Maya
Stanislaysky. They first applied
for an exit visa in December 1976,
and were refused the same month.
They have been refused re-
peatedly every six months for
"secrecy, regime considerations."
Igor's father was forced to quit
his professional work in 1976; he
is an engineer. He has not been
allowed to return to his practice,
but has found work as a carpenter.

Twins Bat Mitzvah

Restoring Dialogue Within The
Jewish Community

MARCH 31

B'NAI MITZVAH

Alizah Serling will twin the ob-
servance of her bat mitzvah cele-
bration at 9 a.m. Saturday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue with Julia
Gluzman, the daughter of Semyon
and Irina Gluzman of Kiev,
USSR.
Dr. Gluzman is known as the
"conscience" of. Soviet psychiatry.
After graduating in 1969, he
worked for two , years in Ukrai-
nian psychiatric hospitals. He
was then offered a post in the
Dnepropetrovsk Special
Psychiatric Hospital, but declined
this position because he believed
that sane people were interned
there solely because of their dis-
senting political,views.
In 1971, a samizdat (under-
ground) document began to circu-
late, entitled, An in Absentia
Forensic-Psychiatric Report on P.
G. Griorenko. The report, co-
authored by Dr. Gluzman, de-
nounced the political misuse of
psychiatry in general and, in par-
ticular, the psychiatric impris-
onment of human rights, activist.
