Dr. Abraham Balaban
The Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies and Naamat U.S.A. will
present a special lecture and dis-
cussion series on "Who Is Amos
Oz?" on Thursday and April 3 and
10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sigmund
and Sophie Rohlik Building of the
United Hebrew Schools. There is
a fee.
Dr. Abraham Balaban, the
guest lectuere, was educated at
Tel Aviv University. He has
taught at Harvard University and
is currently an assistant professor
of modern Hebrew literature at
the University of Michigan.
He has published numerous
books, articles and reviews in-
cluding Between God and Beast
which deals .with the major
themes in Amos Oz's works. Dr.
Balaban grew up on Kibbutz
Hulda as did Amos Oz.
A leading author in Israel, Oz
has been called the "New Wave"
in Israeli fiction. His novels, short
stores and essays have been trans-
lated into 17 langauges. He is the
author of My Michael; Elsewhere
Perhaps; Touch the Water, Touch
the Wind; In the Land of Israel;
Where the Jackals Howl.

The planning committee includes

vice president of education,
Naamat U.S.A.; Renee Wohl, di-
rector, Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies.

camp June 30 - Aug. 18 for chil-

be three- or five-day options with
morning, afternoon and extended
