Albert Berke Albert Berke, a professional representative of Israel Bonds since 1962, died March 14 at age 70. During his 24-year career he was responsible for and guided the Israel Bond efforts of Michi- gan's major synagogue congrega- tions, as well as state-wide dinners held on behalf of Israel Bonds by top banking and indus- try corporations. Personalized photographs and letters on his office walls attest to his friendships with U.S. and Is- raeli leaders, among them Golda Meir, Eleanor Roosevelt, Gen. Yigal Allon, Sen. Phillip Hart and Gen. Menachem Aviram. A life-long Zionist, Mr. Berke was born in Toronto in 1915 and became a member of the Labor Zionist youth movement at age 14. At 19 he moved to Detroit, where he continued his support of Israel's development through leadership involvement in Farband-Labor Zionist Alliance of America, the Histadrut and B'nai B'rith. Mr. Berke officially retired from the Israel Bond Organiza- tion following his 70th birthday this past winter, but accepted a special advisory position with the organization. He is survived by his wife, Reba; a son, Michael; a daughter, Debby Berke-Rappaport of Laurel, Mont.; a sister, Rachel Barish; a brother, Shlomo Barkai, of Israel; and three grand- children. Born in Detroit, Mr. Landau was the former owner of Carriage House Galleries, Tower Furniture and House of Living Rooms. He was a member of Cong. Eva Davidson Eva Davidson, a life member of Hadassah, died March 12 at age 79. Born in Boston, Mass., Mrs. Davidson was a member of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and its sisterhood, a volunteer at the Arnold Home, and a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the United Hebrew Schools. She leaves two sons, Mark M. of Israel and Lee of Fowlerville, Mich.; a sister, Dr. Meriam Kat- zeff of Gloucester, Mass.; and five grandchildren. Mineta Morger Anne Ruth Linsky, a member of Jewish women's, organizations, died March 16 at age 76. Born in Russia, Mrs. Linsky was a member of B'nai B'rith, United Order of True Sisters, Hadassah and Sinai Hospital Guild. She was a longtime member of Adat Shalom Synagogue and its sisterhood. She was active on behalf of the Kidney Foundation at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital and was a member of the Hebrew Benevo- lent Society. Mrs. Langwald is survived by her husband, Philip; a daughter- in-law, Mrs. Annette Langwald; a brother, Arthur Gilbert of Florida; and three grandchildren.
