The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater Detroit
Section, presented special
awards to four of its volunteers,
at a recent general meeting.
Receiving volunteer profes-
sional awards were: Saundra
Goosen, Barbara Cook and Hill-
ary Gitstein-Turk.
Goosen. has been an active
participant in NCJW since 1975.
Since the inception of Fashion
Spree almost five years ago,
Goosen has been almost single-
handedly responsible for its pub-
licity. She has also been instru-
mental •in othei NCJW fund-
raising and public relations
campaigns.
Cook is an attorney and acts
as "house counsel" when NCJW
requires legal advice such as,
contracts, leases, etc. She also
chairs the education assistance
committee, is the past chairman
of by-laWs and serves on the
budget, by-laws, orchards, proj-
ect development, long range
planning and SPACE commit-
tees.
In addition to her NCJW ac-
tivities, she is active at Hillel
Day School, Adat Shalom
Synagogue,• Alliance for Mental
Health and the Jewish Welfare

Federation.
Gitstein-Turk has worked pro-
fessionally in the field of mental
health for 15 years. In her serv-
ice for NCJW she has conducted
numerous training sessions for
Greater Detroit Section as well
as for Central District and most
recently served as co-trainer for
the President's Institute.
She has also chaired the
SPACE committee and served as
the first president of the Busi-
ness and Professional Branch
which she helped to organize.
She is now a national board
member. Presently, she is in
private practice as a
.consultant/trainer to industry.
Ann Zousmer is the first reci-
pient of the Emerging Leader-
ship Award. Her affiliation with
NCJW began as a driver for
Meals On Wheels for which she
later became a day, chairman.
She then co-chaired the CASA
(Court Appointed Special Advo-
cates) Program and currently
serves as co-chairmen of the
Children and Youth Priority.
Zousmer also serves on many
other committees.
She is a member of the Far-
mington PTA, the Sarah Fisher
Home and Temple Beth El.
