cial events for Purim. On March
23 at 11 a.m., there will be a pro-.
gram for children ages 2-6, includ-
ing Purim stories and songs. Por-
tions of the Megillah will be read
and there will he a costume
parade. All children attending in
costume will receive free game
tickets to be - used at the
synagogue Purim carnival im-
mediately following at noon.

Deborah Beres, Devorah Singal
and Deborah Traurig, seniors at
Akiva Hebrew Day School, have
been awarded Wayne State Uni-
versity Merit Scholarships.
The students, who are all par-
ticipating in Akiva's senior-year-
in-Israel program, competed with
high school students throughout
Michigan for the scholarships.
The awards are based on con-
tinuous academic excellence
throughout the high school years,
plus high scores on standard

tuition for eight academic semesz
