The Jewish Historical Society
of Michigan has begun a mem-
bership drive, announces
President Stanley Meretsky.
Founded in 1959, the JHSM is
the only association dedicated to
the preservation and interpreta-
tion of the heritage of Michigan
Jewry.. The historiCal society .
places Michigan historical site
markers, maintains the Jewish
Genealogical Index, publishes
Michigan Jewish History (the
oldest continuously published
journal of local Jewish history
in North America) and collects
documents and historical
memorabilia from 'organizations
and individuals across the state.
To join the Jewish Historical
