THE GREATEST FOOTWEAR EVENT EVER

Pauline Hack

Pauline May Hack, widow of
Nathan Hack with whom she co-
founded the Hack Shoe Co. in
1916, died March just 18 days
short of her 101st birthday.
She came to Bay City in 1889,
when elle was 4, from her birth-
place in Poltava in Russia.
Mrs. Hack was active in the
business until her husband's re-
tirement and their move to Santa
Monica, talif., in January 1946.
Upon his death in October 1971,
she returned to the Detroit area.
In February 1978, Mrs. Hack
was elected honorary chairman of
the Prescription Footwear Asso-
ciation Memorial Foundation, an
honor accorded the widows of per-
sons who had made outstanding
contributions to the field.
She was a long-time member of
Naamat (formerly Pioneer
Women).
She is survived by a soh, Mor-
ton; four grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.

Abraham Natchez

Rossini Slippers

Abraham Natchez, owner of
Industrial Iron and Metal Co.,
Flint, died March 6 at age '75.
Born in Decatur, Mich., Mr.
Natchez was a veteran of World
War II, having served in the
Engineer Corps in the Pacific
campaign. He was awarded the
Bronze Star.
He came to Flint from Decatur
in 1916. His father, Joseph,
founded the scrap metal business
that year and Mr. Natchez took
over the operation of the business
when his father died in 1929.
He was a member of Cong. Beth
Israel, B'nai B'rith, Jewish War
Veterans, Zionist Organizaion of
America and the Institute of
Scrap Iron and Steel.
He is survived by his wife,
• Dorothy (Conn); two sons, Martin
of Grand Blanc and David of
Davison, Mich.; two daughters,
Mrs. Ronald (Shaun) Pelavin of
West Bloomfield and Marilyn of
Grand .Blanc; and two grand-
children. Interment Flint.

Myron Cohen

New York — Storyteller and
comedian Myron Cohen has died
at age 83.
Mr. Cohen began as a silk
salesman and later turned to per-
forming on stage. He made
• numerous nightclub and televi-
sion appearances.
He was mostly noted for telling
tales in the dialect of his Eastern
European co-workers in the gar-
, ment district. •
