Adele Lewin has been named
day camp director at the Jewish
Community Center.
Ms. Lewin holds a Bachelor of
Science degree from Michigan
State University and a Jewish
studies certificate from Arad in
Israel. She has been affiliated
with and worked for Fresh Air
Society (Tamarack Camps) for
eight years.
Under Ms. Lewin's guidance,
the JCC Day Camp '86 will offer
Jewish programs to enhance
campers' Jewish identity. Camp-
ing programs will include
weekly Jewish themes, Hebrew
songs and Israeli dancing and a
weekly Oneg Shabbat.
Campers will be involved in
outdoor activities that include:
athletics, nature crafts, swim
instruction and. opportunities to
make new friends.
Camper groups are organized
according to age and level of de-
velopment of campers. The day
camp meets at a site behind the
main Jewish Center.

Rabbis Attend
Tourism Parley

Several rabbis from Metro De-
troit took part last week in a
special North American rabbinic
conference on toitrism in Israel,
which was called on short
notice, as part of the new Israel
Bond effort to help expand the

number of visitors to Israel and
thereby further strengthen Is-
rael's economy.
Rabbis from this area who
attended the conference include:
Milton Arm of Cong. Beth
Achim, Lane Steinger of Temple
Emanu-El and Efry Spectre of
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
