Beth Achim and B'nai Moshe will co-sponsor Shabba- ton retreat March 14-16 at Beth Achim for their United Synagogue Youth and Kadima members (grades seven-12). The theme of the program is "Soviet Jewry." On March 15 at 8:45 a.m. the youth department of Cong. Beth Achim will conduct its annual Shabbat Hanoar service (Youth Shabbat). Members from each youth group (ages 3-18) will participate in the service. Luncheon follows the service. Separate Shabbat services for youth are held weekly at the synagogue beginning at 10 a.m. for children ages 3-18. There also is an infant babysitting program available weekly on Shabbat mornings. Akiva Cagers Big Winners The Akiva Hebrew Day School basketball team has pro- ven victorious in eight of ten contests, and has won its last five games in a row, said Moshe Rose, Akiva coach-manager. Although the Akiva players lost to teams from the Skokie (Ill.) Yeshiva and the Jewish Community Center, it has won games against teams from Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, Bir- ney -Middle SchOol (non-varsity), Hillel Day School, the Akiva alumni and the AZA. Youth Gather At Camp Tamarack The Society for Humanistic Judaism will sponsor a youth conclave at Camp Tamarack today through Sunday. Young people ages 13 to 16 will discuss "Issues for Modern Jews."
