New Curriculum
On Soviet Jewry
A curriculum for teaching
Jewish students about the situa-
tion facing Soviet Jews has been
updated for use in Detroit-area
religios schools by members of
the Jewish Community Coun-
cil's Detroit Soviet Jewry Com-
mittee (DSJC).
An addendum to the cur-
riculum, issued by Chicago Ac-
tion for Soviet Jewry in 1980,
has. been written to cover the
1980-1986 time period, includ-
ing the recent release of former
prisoner of conscience Anatoly
Scharansky.
The writing team consists of
DSJC members Joel Gershen-
son, Lawrence Jackier, Gerald
Rogers, and Jeannie Weiner
working with Dr. Zvi Gitelman
as advisor.
