selections and Rabbi Irwin
Groner will offer remarks on the
evening's program. Dr. and Mrs.
Harold Daitch, concert chairmen,
have announced that admission
is open to the entire community
at no charge.
The evening is sponsored by
the family of the late Mrs. Mar-
tin. Additional co-chairmen of
the Cultural .Commission are Dr.
Paul Gold and Linda Zalla. Wal-
ter Field is founding chairman of
the cultural commission.
Mrs. Martin served Cong.
Shaarey Zedek for many years as
sisterhood president and chair-
man of the cultural commission.

Topic Of Temple

The Birmingham Temple will
have a program on "The Will to
Survive — A History of the Jews"
at 8:30 p.m. today in the temple.
The musical and dramatic pre-
sentation will be given by the
Templesingers.
Sopranos are: Bernice Gadon,
Nina Schneyer, Mimi Shaw and
Marie Shaw. Altos are: Gloria
Holzman; Sandra Landau, Diane
Bernstein, Caren Rapp, Fraida
Stillwater and Ann Kutnick.
Tenors include: Allan Becker,
Howard Kahn, Milton Landau
and Albert Levenson. Baritones
are: Jack Driker, Arthur Rose,
Gene Schoener and Jackson
Black.
The temple will have a meeting
of its Monday Forum series at
8:30 p.m. Monday in the temple.
Rabbi Wine will speak on
"Blacks, Arabs and Jews." On
Monday, he will focus on The
Color Purple by Alice Walker.
There is an admission charge.
"An Evening With . the Rabbi"
is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Wed-
nesday at the temple. He will de-
scribe the philosophy and pro-
gram of the temple.

Beth Shalom Men's Club will
observe Men's Chub Shabbat at
services on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The service will be conducted
entirely by Men's Club members.
