Agudas Achim in Columbus, Ohio, will be the keyn- ote speaker. Theme for the day is "Jews Talking to Jews: One People, Perspectives on a United Future for Us All." Joining Rabbi Ciner on the panel will be Rabbi Stanley Rosenbaum of Cong. B'nai Moshe, Rabbi Lane Steinger of Temple Emanu-El and Rabbi David Nel- son of Beth Shalom, who will be the moderator. Registration will begin and continental breakfast served at 9:30 a.m., followed by the panel at 10:15 a.m. A dairy buffet lunch- eon will be served at noon. Rabbi Ciner is a graduate of Yeshiva College and in 1971 re- ceived rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University, earning a master's degree in Jewish history in that same year. Rabbi Ciner's first pulpit was with a congregation in Baltimore, Md. At that time he also served as a spokesman at Congressional hearings and State Department meetings regarding matters of Jewish concerns., Later, Rabbi Ciner assumed a position in the business world, spending the lastaeveral years as a senior consultant with a firm in the brokerage and commodity in- dustries simultaneously continu- ing to be on the rabbinic faculty at youth seminars sponsore by Yeshiva University. Since coming to Columbus and again entering full time rabbi- nate,. Rabbi Ciner has appeared on television and radio, has lec- tured within his field of expertise on Halachic and philosophical Judaism, and several of his arti- cles and sermons have been pub- lished. He has served as president of the Columbus Board of Rabbis The women's division of Machon L'Torah, the Jewish Learning Network of Michigan, will sponsor its second annual li- brary luncheon on March 9 at 1 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, Jimmy Prentis Morris Branch. A dairy luncheon will be served and babysitting provided. A musical program will be pre- sented by duo-painists Ann Kretzmer and Rochelle Peterson. The program will include works of Dvorak, Ravel and Agay. The Machon L'Torah library is housed on the second floor of the Young Israel of Oak-Woods synagogue, and is open to the Jewish community every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The library features a large col- lection of cassette tapes on Jewish philosophy, Jewish law, and other subjects, as well as a variety of commentaries in English on classical texts, such as the Artscroll Publications and the Me'am Lo'Ez torah Anthology. Books by Rabbi Avigdor Miller, Rabbi Aryeh Kiplan, Rabbi Shi- mon Eider, also are included in the collection. Jewish Women's Week Begins The third annual Week of the Jewish Woman, organized by pro- gram chairmen Corine Goldstein, Rachel Kagan and Rachel Wineberg, is scheduled to begin Sunday. It will commence with a brunch and workshop at 10 a.m. at the Lubavitch Education Cen- ter, 28555 Middlebelt, Far- mington Hills. The guest speaker will be New York stockbroker Geila Brock. Mrs. Brock will speak on "Dis- cover the Jew in You." In addition to the brunch and three workshops that will be held, a music interlude Will be per- formed by pianist Chan& El- binger.
