Hebron Seeking
Historic Records

The inauguration by Housing
Minister David Levy, on•Jan. 20,
of Beit Hadassah in Hebron, as an
official Jewish residential com-
plex, marks yet another step
towards the rebuilding and re-
establishing of the Jewish com-
munity, in. this _ancient holy city

We appeal to the Jewish public
to help us in our search for
families and friends of those who
once lived in Hebron. We want to
document Jewish history here as
accurately and graphically as
possible in the new Hebron
Museum to be set up in Beit
Hadassah.
Anyone who has information,
maps, pictures or other docu-
ments relating to Hebron is re-
quested to contact us.

Anatoly Story
Was Exceptional

As Israel welcomed the hero,
Anatoly Shcharansky, now Na-
tan, and rejoiced for his Avital, no
longer alone, an avalanche of
media coverage engulfed us all.
This was good, because we were
all hungry to read and learn about
this modern day miracle.
In the celebration of the mo-
ment, while every version was
welcome, Helen Davis' story "An
Emotional Welcome for an Israeli
Hero" (Feb. 14) stands as excep-
tional
Her memorable account gave
form to our feelings of joy and
thankfulness. Congratulations on
a superb story.
